{2011} Year in Review

What a lovely year it has been!  2011 was filled with some tears, but also an amazing amount of joy and happiness.  We welcomed a new kitten to our home, my kids started school, Marty & I celebrated our 10 year anniversary, and we took an amazing trip to Chicago.  So many laughs, hugs, and amazing memories I will cherish forever.  I'm welcoming 2012 with an open mind and heart.

Here are some of my favorite looks of 2011.

I hope you've all had a beautiful 2011.  Do you have any big plans for New Years?

{Look Book} Evening Shimmer

Sometimes I'm in the mood for all-out sparkle and glitz.  But, more often, just a touch of shimmer is enough. That's what I love most about this dress.  The subtle shimmer.   It seemed like the perfect dress to wear to a casual holiday party.
Dress: Knitted & Knotted from Anthropologie Glinting Persica Sweater Dress
Belt: Anthropologie Beaded Wink Belt
Tights: Anthropologie Textured Dot Tights
Shoes: Seychelles (similar)
Earrings: Alexis Bittar Miss Havisham in Rose Gold

Last night Marty & I went to the funnest White Elephant gift exchange party at our neighbor's house.  I adore their house.  It's a little cottage tucked deep in a canyon and it's decorated with German trinkets and souvenirs.  I feel like I'm in a far away land when I visit their home.  And, their annual gift exchange party is always filled with so many laughs that my stomach hurts by the end of the night.  Last night was no exception.  I love seeing the creative and super silly gifts that people bring.

With the weekend behind me, now I need to focus on getting ready for Christmas.  I have all of my shopping done (I hope!), now I just have to wrap, and wrap and then wrap some more.  Are you all ready for Christmas?  Are you one of the smart one's who shops in November and can sit back and relax, or do you wait until the last minute and rush around the stores on Christmas Eve?

Etsy Artisan Spotlight: Ixela

As I've said before, I adore handmade items and I am a big supporter of Etsy.  Recently, I discovered a darling shop called Ixela and wanted to share some of their beautiful pieces with you.  The artist behind Ixela is Alessandra and she is from Italy.  Alessandra makes the prettiest crocheted accessories and whimisical jewery pieces.  I adore her crochet flower rings, her playful woodland rings, and her knitted scarf necklaces.  And she is such a beautiful person & a joy to work with.

I love to introduce wonderful Etsy sellers as I discover them.  Who are some of your favorites?

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!  Looking forward to a beautiful week filled with all the joys of Christmas time.

{Look Book} Duck, Duck, Goose!

It is not an understatement to say that I nearly got attacked by a hundred geese and ducks while taking these pictures.  There I am putting my life on the line in the name of fashion.  They may have been after my fantastic Rebecca Minkoff MAC that was my favorite Black Friday score!  Oh how I love this bag.  The color is striking and unique, yet somehow it still goes with everything.  And I adore all the unique details like the tassels, the gold hardware, and the leopard print lining.  I smile everytime I look at this beauty!

{Look Book} Jewel Tones

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  I did!  I was super productive and it felt so good.  I cooked, I cleaned, I organized, I shopped.  I feel like I am almost ready for Christmas now.  I love all the excitement in the air this time of year.

I did take a break from all the buzz and spent a beautiful afternoon at the park.  The weather was so lovely, I had to get outside and enjoy it.

I was so inspired by the colors of this dress and jewelry.  The deep red, cobalt blue and peacock green remind me of the most beautiful jewel tones.  I see rubies, sapphires, and emeralds when I look at these colors (if you haven't noticed yet, I'm more than a little bit jewelry obsessed)
