{Look Book} Wildflower + Earthies Sandals

Sweater: c/o LADYEE BOUTIQUE Shredded Sweater
Skirt: ANTHROPOLOGIE Scattered Heartsease Skirt (on Sale!)
Bracelet: ANTHROPOLOGIE Pinta Cuff
Necklace: STELLA & DOT Campari Necklace
Shoes: c/o EARTHIES Salerno Sandals

Have you noticed that I have a little addiction to beautiful shoes?  I'm especially fond of sandals.  I wear sandals almost everyday, and throughout all seasons.  Living in California, a girl can't survive without some comfortable, beautiful, and stylish sandals.  This pair of sandals I'm wearing from Earthies are one of my favorite pairs because they are seriously SO comfortable and I'm a sucker for a wedge.  I know I will be living in these all Summer.

Hope you are all enjoying some warm weather in your part of the world.  I've been spending a lot of time outside lately.  My vegetable garden is blossoming, and yesterday I planted some colorful flowers around the yard.  It really makes me smile.  And, today, I saw ANOTHER snake!  What is going on?  I've lived in my house for 8 years and I have never seen a snake, and now within a week I've seen TWO.  The good news is that this snake was a harmless Garter Snake, not a scary Rattlesnake like that last one.  The freaky thing was that when it saw me it slithered up a tree.  I didn't realize snakes could climb trees?  Man, I feel so out of the loop on the talents of snakes.  Okay, enough about snakes (promise)!

Have a lovely day beautiful friends!  xo, Shannon

{Review} You Smell

You Smell is a unique new brand that you will fall in love with (as I did!).  I saw the creator behind the brand, Megan, on Shark Tank and was so impressed with her soaps that I rushed to find out more.  You Smell offers a collection of beautiful luxury bar soaps and paper hand soap.  Their bar soaps are made with premium ingredients (like shea butter and olive oil), no fillers, and they are triple milled so they last forever.  And the packaging is beyond adorable!

I had the opportunity to review the Paper Hand Soap.  I have never seen a product like this before, so I was excited to learn more.  The Paper Hand Soap comes in a cute little package and is filled with 25 individual sheets of soap.  They are made with Allantoin, a natural anti-bacterial.  And they have no parabens or phthalates.  This is especially important to me because my daughter, Lily, has extremely sensitive skin and can only use all-natural, chemical free soaps.  I have to carry a bottle of gentle hand soap in my purse in case we use a restroom while we are out and about.   I love that the You Smell Paper Soap is portable, easy to use and all natural.  They are the perfect solution to carrying a bottle of soap in my purse, and so much better than hand sanitizer.  I tried the Divine and Lemon scents, and I love both fragrances.  Both scents smell fresh, natural and pleasant.  The paper sheets are soft as silk and dissolve easily with a touch of water.  They left my hands soft, clean and smelling wonderful.  And Lily loves them too.  I plan to always carry a package of these in my purse.

Happy Friday friends!  I hope you all have a lovely weekend.  xo, Shannon

(This is not a sponsored post and I was not paid to write this post.  I was gifted 2 packs of Paper Soap for the purpose of this review.  All opinions are 100% my own.)

Images from Hawaii

{Oahu}

{Kauai}

I'm finally going through our pictures from Hawaii.  These are some of my favorites. We spent 1 week on Oahu, and the second week in Kauai.  Both islands were incredibly beautiful and majestic.  We spent a lot of time driving around the islands and exploring. Around every bend in the road was another jaw-dropping view.  It was such an amazing experience, I can't wait to go back.

Have a beautiful day!  xo, Shannon

{Look Book} Fresh Picked

Dress: c/o OASAP Orange Print Dress
Jacket: ANTHROPOLOGIE (old)
Necklace: gift from my mom
Tank: TARGET
Boots: FRYE
Carmen Short Booties

The moment I saw this whimsical orange-print dress, I knew I needed it!  Living in Orange County, I have a fondness for oranges.  The print screams Summer, and I was thinking how cute it would be to wear to the Orange County Fair (one of my favorite Summer places to go)!  It makes me smile every time I see it hanging in my closet.

Things got a little wild at my house yesterday.  I was walking out to my car, and I noticed my cat playing with something in the grass.  I walked over and discovered she was playing with a snake!!!  And not just any snake, a RATTLESNAKE.  I screamed so loud I think the entire neighborhood heard me.  I was able to get my cat and dogs inside so they wouldn't get hurt, and luckily my kids were at school so they were safe as well.  After getting my pets inside, the snake slithered away.  I had no idea what to do?  Has anyone ever experienced something like this before?

I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

p.s. Wondering if you won the BIG Ad Space giveaway?  The winner is announced here. And, don't forget to enter the eShakti giveaway.

{Look Book} Garden Party + Book Talk

Sweater: c/o DOWNEAST BASICS | Card Catalog Cardigan
Tank: HINGE Jersey Tank
Skirt: ANTHROPOLOGIE Scattered Heartsease Skirt (on SALE!)
Necklace: STELLA & DOT Cameron Pendant
Bracelet: c/o ANJOLEE Elliptical Link Bracelet (see review here)
Shoes: SEYCHELLES Coy Sandals
Handbag: c/o GIGI NEW YORK by GRAPHIC IMAGE | All in One Bag (20% off with code HEART)

Yay for Spring sunshine!  I'm taking in every minute of it.  I'm a California girl, so I'm most comfortable in sandals and breezy skirts.

On a different note, let's talk books!  While on vacation I had time to read two books and I'd love to hear if any of you have read either of these and what your thoughts are.  First, I read 50 Shades of Grey by E.L. James.  I have to admit that I don't see what all the hype is about.  I didn't connect with it.  It was poorly written, had a week plot, uninteresting characters and was very repetitive.  I found myself rolling my eyes more than once while reading this book.  I love a good romance novel, but this one was just not for me.  I'd love to hear your thoughts?  Have you read it and do you love it or hate it?

I also read The 5 Love Languages by Dr. Gary Chapman and it was totally fascinating.  The author has an interesting perspective on love.  The concept is that people feel and express love in different ways, and because of this some relationships do not last because they are not communicating in ways that are understood by their partner.  Dr. Chapman suggests that by learning the "love language" of your partner, you can express your love in a more impactful and meaningful way.  This book made me look at love in an entirely different way than I had before.  I highly recommend this book to anyone.  And I'd love to hear your thoughts if you've read it.

Now, the mission is to find a new book that I will love.  Some of my favorite books are The Hunger Games, The Art of Racing in the Rain, and Water for Elephants.
Any suggestions?

xo, Shannon
