Look Book: Sunshine on My Shoulders

I grew up listening to John Denver's Sunshine on my Shoulders.  In fact, I'm not sure I ever actually heard John Denver sing it, but my mom sang it to me all the time.  I'd request it at bedtime, bath time, in the car, or while my mom cooked dinner.  I was slightly obsessed with it.  And really, what is better than a beautiful day and the warmth of the sun on your shoulders?

While I'm speaking of things that I love, I must mention the necklace I'm wearing from Keltie Leanne Designs.  It's called the Captured Light Necklace and I think the name perfectly represents it's beauty.  The crystal quartz reflects the light in such a way that it feels magical. I'm completely smitten by it.

I'm feeling very chic today as I head out to dinner for my brother's birthday.  He requested all-you-can-eat-sushi for his birthday dinner.  As much as I love sushi, I'm thinking that all-you-can-eat is never a good thing.  Then again, I think I still have a turkey hang-over after my all-you-can-eat Thanksgiving dinner.  'Tis the season.

I hope you all had a lovely holiday and are enjoying the long weekend.  I'm all dolled up for a Friday night out with my honey. Thanksgiving was wonderful, but after all the hustle-bustle, cooking and entertaining, I'm looking forward to a quiet evening out with my main squeeze.  And being that Christmas is right around the corner, I'm all about sparkle and glitz.  I'm thinking this dress would be lovely for New Year's as well.

I'm getting into the rhythm of Fall, and thoroughly enjoying the comforts of Fall style.  Boots, cozy shirts, and skinny jeans. These pieces make up my Fall uniform for sure.  With the touch of some pretty jewelry, it instantly transforms a casual outfit into something special.

Are you all ready for Thanksgiving?  I am not even close!  We have 14 people coming over tomorrow and our house is torn in half.... literally.  We are in the midst of a remodel, thinking it would be done on Monday and the house is not even close. Hopefully miracles happen today, or if not, I suppose we eat outside in the yard like the pilgrims.  Either way, what's important is being with the one's we love most.

The chilly weather has been making me feel like getting cozy, reading a great book, and sipping on my favorite tea.  I'm looking forward to next week, the kids will be off school and we can all enjoy some R&R.  This time of year is my absolute favorite! Cuddly days, the excitement of the holiday's in the air, and all the cherished family time.  No hustle-bustle, just joy and togetherness.... and staying in my jammies all day long.
