Look Book: Emerald City

Dress: Parker, Jacket: c/o Karen Kane (also worn here), Tights: Commando, Shoes: Pour la Victoire (also worn here),
Earrings: c/o Blue Nile, Necklace: Stella & Dot

With Christmas behind us, I have only one thought on my mind... New Years Eve!  I love New Years Eve!  Gives me an excuse to get ultra dolled-up and indulge in a bit of champagne. And it's not often that I have an occasion to wear a sequin dress and faux-fur jacket. This dress makes me feel like I'm drenched in emeralds. Do you have big plans for New Years Eve? I'd love to hear your plans! I'm still trying to decide between going out for sushi and dancing, or staying in with friends. Either way, you better bet I'll be wearing sequins.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was simply perfect. Family, food, and lots of holiday cheer. We lucked out with the weather yesterday. It was bright and beautiful. Now today we're back to rain. Which is fine by me, I love the rain. I get to pull out my wellies and get snuggly. And it gives me an excuse to relax inside and play with all the goodies Santa brought. xo.

Merry Christmas

Last week my son recited a poem, and I found it to be so precious. Every time I think about it, it warms my soul.  Such a simple, yet beautiful message. I wanted to share it with you:

"What can I give Him,
Poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd
I would bring a lamb,
If I were a wise man
I would do my part,
Yet what I can I give Him,
Give my heart."

I wish you all a very merry Christmas.  I hope you are surrounded by love and joy... all the magic that Christmas brings.

**Poem is an excerpt from In the Bleak of Midwinter by Christina Rossetti

Look Book: Joyful

Skirt: Anthropologie, Jacket: BCBG (old), Necklace: c/o Brooklyn Designs, Bracelet: c/o Brooklyn Designs, Tights: Commando
Shoes: Matt Bernson (on sale 1/2 price!)

Can you believe it's the last weekend before Christmas? My kids are counting down the seconds until Christmas morning. And I must admit, it's just as fun being the parent and getting to relive the magic through their eyes. What I love about Christmas is having a house filled with giggles and music and the scent of cookies baking. Every year my mom and I make a wonderful dinner for the family and after dessert we all make a wish for the coming year. My wish is always the same: health and happiness. Because after all, that's what really matters. XO

Look Book: Preppy Plaid

Dress: Madewell, Sweater: Free People, Necklace: Amy Waltz  Boots: c/o JellyPop (also worn here), Boot Socks: Target

I feel like I've transformed into the Tasmanian Devil. Running around finishing up Christmas shopping, wrapping, school pageants, volunteering, a trip to Disneyland and visits with Santa. This month is seriously flying by. And I'm loving every moment. As of today, my kids are officially off school for almost 3 weeks. I think we were all ready for a break from school.  And I'm just so excited to have my little one's at home with me.  I think many movie marathons and board games are in our future. I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season with your loved ones. xo.

Look Book: Merry & Bright

Blouse: Daniel Rainn via StitchFix, Skirt: Kensie (also worn here), Tights: Kate Spade, Shoes: Anthropologie (on sale!), Necklace & Earrings: c/o INPINK

Red is a color that I don't wear often. In all honesty, I'm completely intimidated by it. It's much too bold for my shy little self. But, really, what color is more festive than red? So, in honor of the holiday's, I am stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing the color of the season. And really, don't we all have to step out of our comfort zone from time to time?

Look Book: Gold Flecks

Dress: Anthropologie (on sale!), Tights: Target, Shoes: Hinge (similar), Scarf: Target, Jacket: Nanette Lepore (similar), Necklace: via StitchFix

Who doesn't love a dress with a touch of sparkle? Especially around the holiday's, I'm nearly obsessed with clothes and accessories that sparkle. That's why this dress caught my eye. It's quite simple really, yet the flecks of gold take it up a notch. I think it would be perfect for a holiday party or a dinner date.

I can hardly believe that Christmas is a mere 11 days away. I don't feel as ready as I should be. I still have so much shopping and wrapping yet to be done. And I haven't even mailed out our Christmas cards yet. The good news is that my house is in full-holiday attire. Every nook and cranny is decorated. The smell of pine is in the air and the stockings are hung by the chimney with care. This is without a doubt my favorite time of year and I'm trying to enjoy each and every second.

Look Book: Duets

Dress: Madewell, Tights: Anthropologie, Shoes: Seychelles on sale!, Scarf: Anthropologie old, Ring: c/o Kevia Jewelry

What is a duet?  Two things that are harmonious. Two things that are made for each other.  Two things that come together and create a perfect compliment to each other.  That's how I feel when I see magenta and mustard paired together. A perfect duet. It's as if the colors are singing together. Since I'm not great at singing duets, at least I can create them in my wardrobe. What are some of your favorite color duets?

Look Book: Rustic Charm

Top: Free People, Sweater: Free People on sale! (also worn here), Jeans: AG, Boots: Frye, Clutch: c/o GiGi New York (also seen here),
Necklace: c/o Hamilton Jewelers

It's Monday, can you believe it?  The weekend just flew by.  Hustling from birthday party to baby shower to holiday party sure makes the weekend go fast.  I love this time of year.  So many celebrations with friends, so much joy, so much laughter. Nothing is better.

Every December I go through all of my pictures from the year and I put together a photo album.  It's so bittersweet.  On one hand, it makes me so happy to be reminded of all of the wonderful adventures and great experiences.  On the other hand, it makes me sad because they are in the past and I want to relive those moments forever.  This time of year always makes me sentimental.  I wish I could stop time for awhile and take it all in.  Does the end of the year make you sentimental as well?
