Friday I'm In Love

I have the lyrics to The Cure dancing in my head right now. Mostly because it's Friday and I'm so excited for the weekend. Easter is one of my favorite holidays. We always start off the day with a pancake breakfast and then it's Easter egg hunting time. My kids LOVE hunting for Easter eggs, and our yard is the perfect place to do so. We have tons of nooks and crannies where the Easter Bunny likes to hide the eggs and the kids can spend hours hunting for them. It's so much fun to sit back and watch their little eyes brighten each time they discover an egg and put it into their baskets. I get excited just thinking about it!

Dots & Daisies

Lately I can't resist the urge to pick a few flowers as I'm walking around the yard. They are so bright and happy and seem to be begging to be enjoyed. My daughter and I have been making bouquets of wildflowers to bring inside to brighten up our house. There's something so joyful about seeing a big bundle of fresh flowers at the kitchen table.  The simple joys that spring brings.

Charcoal & Teal

My plans for planting our vegetable garden this weekend we diverted when my husband mentioned an impromptu trip to Palm Springs on Friday afternoon. How could I resist? It was such a gorgeous day, the sun was shining, and I've been dreaming of a poolside vacation all Winter. 

Friday before we left, I was wearing the outfit you see in these pictures. I had a lunch date with some friends and although the weather was warm, I didn't want to have bare legs. There's something so fun about wearing colored tights in the spring. They add a punch of color to an otherwise bland outfit, and they also keep you warm in case of a cool spring breeze.

Spring has officially sprung, and I couldn't be more excited. Spring is my favorite season. Long days filled with sunshine, floral dresses, vegetable gardens, vibrant flowers, and singing birds. It makes my soul so very happy just thinking about the beautiful season that has just arrived. Apricot & Turquoise

Apricot & turquoise is a color combination that screams sunny days and poolside vacations. Both colors are so bright and happy, and paired together is pure bliss. When I saw this blouse it was the colors that first caught my eye, but it was the print that made me fall for it. I've been loving prints like this one lately. Not sure how to describe it... scarf print maybe? Or tablecloth print? Either way, I'm totally in love with it. Now I just need a poolside vacation and I'll be set.

Soft Black

Black is often thought to be a harsh or rough color. But, sometimes it can also come across as soft and sweet. Like the case with this blouse. The feminine black floral print on the flowy cream blouse is as sweet as can be. And paired with the lighter denim gives the overall look an even more delicate feel. As much as I love to wear bright and pretty colors, I equally love to go all neutral at times. The classic color combination of black and cream creates such an effortless, yet pulled-together look that is so easy to wear.
